Study while still at school.

Gain nationally recognised qualifications while still at school through our partnership with TAFE Queensland.

Designed for high school students in Year 10 or Year 11, this program provides a unique opportunity to combine academic learning with practical, hands-on experience in a dynamic sporting environment. Students will work towards completing the Certificate II in Sport Coaching (SIS20321) and/or Certificate III in Sport Coaching (SIS30521), gaining valuable industry-recognised qualifications before finishing school.

The program is delivered in an engaging and active setting, allowing students to develop coaching techniques, leadership skills, and a deeper understanding of the sporting industry. As part of the course structure, students are released from their regular school timetable one day per week during the school term to attend classes at a TAFE Queensland campus, where learning is applied in real-world contexts.

On successful completion, students can contribute points towards their Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE), while also building practical skills and knowledge aligned with their chosen sport or career pathway. This dual-focused approach ensures students are well-prepared for further study, employment, or progression within the sport and recreation sector.

Beyond the classroom, students will benefit from exclusive industry exposure. As part of the program, participants will have access to guest speakers from the Gold Coast SUNS, providing insights into elite sport environments. Students will also enjoy a match-day experience with tickets to a Gold Coast SUNS home game, as well as a behind-the-scenes site tour, offering a unique perspective on professional sport operations.
